Verizon Wireless, AT&T,and T- Mobile plan to invest more than $100 million in a joint venture that lets consumers pay for goods with mobile phones.

The investment sets up a showdown between the venture, known as Isis, and rival Google’s technology, Google Wallet.

NFC Mobile Advertising Startup Tapit Raises Seed Funding – The Washington Post

NFC as a marketing tool? Good idea. A little before it’s time but if these guys can hang in there they are in a good position to make good money.

I’m wondering about getting NFC “push” notification advertising as a person walks by a sign or billboard. That would be neat.
