According to eMarketer, the top reason to like a brand on Facebook is to receive discounts. Being a customer of the company and a desire to show others that they support the brand are second and third respectively. Twitter was a little different. Like Facebook users, Twitter users are all about discounts. Up-to-the-minute information and exclusive content were second and third respectively. So armed with this information what can you do to take advantage?

Google vs Facebook – Social Gaming is the key to victory.

Social networking, social media, social whatever is hot, hot, hot with Facebook being the 500 (million) pound gorilla.

It’s easy to say that Facebook with so many users can never be overthrown. The second place social media hub, only (chuckle) has 190 million users. My Space only has 60 million users. My Space and Twitter are the top challengers but really…they won’t catch Facebook. Any other company that would dare challenge the mighty Facebook would have to start from scratch, get to at least 300 million users, and do it fast.
